The Best Entrances In Indie Wrestling

There’s nothing quite like a top class wrestling entrance.

The atmosphere it creates usually flows throughout the entire match and creates an aura around the wrestlers themselves.

Whether it’s a cracking singalong or an atmospheric composition, these are the best entrances in indie wrestling:

Besties in the World - Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden

“I wanna stand with you on a mountain. I wanna bathe with you in the sea.” We start with a banger of a singalong courtesy of Savage Garden.

It is the perfect song to showcase the love and connection shared by the Besties in the World. Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett really get the crowd going with this number and it usually means the hype stays at top levels during their matches.

An oldie but very much a goodie, god only knows the number of incredible pops have happened when this song hits and Chris Hero walks to the ring - see the video below as a prime example.

We can all agree that Hero is one of the greatest indie wrestlers of the past decade but he’s also got a barnstormer of an intro song.

Nixon Newell - C’est La Vie by B*Witched

“Some people say I look like me dad. Are you serious?”

We all love a 90s pop classic right? And it doesn’t come much poppier or more classic than C’est La Vie.

When Nixon used this as her entrance music the sound was almost deafening! It was tricky picking which Nixon track to put on this list as she’s had some epic entrance songs, but B*Witched take it this time.

Cara Noir - Swan Theme from Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

From three raging tunes to something far more atmospheric. Cara Noir is one of the most enigmatic and mysterious wrestlers on the British scene and it all starts with his haunting entrance.

Taken from Swan Lake, this icon of classical music sets the scene for Cara’s work perfectly.

Speaking about Cara, Twisted Genuis Dean Ayass (watch out for that interview coming up) told Grapple Theory: “It’s the image, it’s the cape, it’s the entrance music. He’s been very smart with the entrance music. We keep telling people now about having non-copyrighted music.”

Grado - Like a Prayer by Madonna

Back to absolute bangers and they don’t come much better than when Grado busts out Like a Prayer.

The audience sing-along when this comes on is phenomenal, the crowd is left breathless before the match even begins.

Don’t believe us…check out the below clip.

Maki Itoh - Brooklyn the Hole by Maki Itoh

Not only is this Japanese superstar’s theme off-the-wall brilliant but it’s written and performed by Maki herself, a rare find on the indie scene, even in Japan.

The former idol really puts on a performance as she belts out the song for the fans before hitting the ring.

Now it’s not quite a sing-along, mainly because Japanese fans are more reserved and around the world there are fewer fans who can sing in fluent Japanese, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive - guess we’re Maki Itoh simps too…
