WRESTLER CRUSH WEDNESDAY: SAFIRE REED

Author: Rebecca Gault (@timelessthekla)

Welcome to Wrestler Crush Wednesday – your weekly feature here at Grapple Theory where I, your humble host, tell you all about my indie wrestler crush of the week so you know who to look out for on the independent scene!

If you tuned in for the inaugural installment of WCW on Anita Vaughan, this name will be familiar to you. I simply couldn’t talk about AV without also featuring her wonderful tag partner, Safire Reed.

Hailing from London, England, Safire Reed is one of the top talents on the UK scene right now – despite being so young! She’s genuinely excellent in ring, hard hitting and with a killer moveset that really showcases just how much physicality she has, and has a real knack for working a crowd.

Watching Safire interact with a crowd is always a treat – whether she’s a joyful, energy filled half of Hyperactive or the sneering, trash-talking heel you see working with the Cut Throat Collective in RevPro – you’ll always get wonderful interactions with Safire if you’re willing to give that energy back.

Much like her tag partner, Safire can be seen all over the UK and Europe and prominently so at Pro Wrestling EVE, RevPro, Hustle, and, more recently, Riot Cabaret and Progress. She and AV, as Hyperactive, have even just won the Resurgence tag team titles – expect to see them on cards there! Frankly, it’s absolutely worth keeping an eye on any card just to see if Safire is around – I promise she’s worth the watch.

Coming up on Pro Wrestling EVE’s annual She-1 tournament and with a shiny #149 ranking on the PWI Top 250 for 2025, Safire has made it clear that she knows exactly who she is now and we, as audiences, are damn lucky to get to see it. If you want to come along and find out who Safire is – and who she’ll inevitably become – then there’s no better time than right now!

Consider checking out her Pro Wrestling EVE match with Rayne Leverkusen, her RevPro match with Mercedes Mone, or Hyperactive’s Bridge Pro match against Medusa Complex. Either way, Safire is radioactive these days!
